Sometimes, the Beyond and I find ourselves in agreement on human nature and human agency. And then we write a poem. WordPress makes poetic formatting a serious challenge, so we finally did a screenshot instead. Grandma Margaret often said, “Where there’s a will, there’s a way.” She didn’t add that the way would be rugged and nearly impassable sometimes–both in the realm of formatting AND in the realm of forgiving.
Short visits with an honest God 
Hello dear friend,
I can’t imagine why WordPress would conspire against poetry because I think it is your super power. Maybe that’s why. Maybe WordPress wants to keep the power. Probably. WordPress is probably a guy.
I volunteered for 12 hours (sunburned lips—yowzer) at the World Champtionship Ironman yesterday. It was the All Male Version. Last year it was only women. You would not believe the difference in the vibe. Oh. Yeah. I actually think you would believe it. I am staked at an outpost to make sure the cyclists make a particular turn—going out and coming back. I cheer my heart out. The women—EVERY ONE OF THEM and ALWAYS—smile, say thanks, wave, laugh. The men hit us with a disappear glare or snarl. It’s palpable, predictable, and stunning.
But I digress.
CHURCH TODAY!!!
I LOVE YOUR POETRY!! It’s so hard and I’m so envious (in a good way) and today is no exception.
Rita line, right up front where it belongs: Miseries distorted by projection of time and retribution
I love the line “most fairly tales make sense if you listen” at the END of a stanza. And then all the examples in the stanza that follows. I didn’t know the “Seven Lambs” fairy tale and had to look it up.
Then than lying in wait Rita Line: This is what it means to be chosen. Yowzer.
“Seeds take roots in cracks, untended.” So perfect. So visual. So everyone knows this.
I love the triple repeat of “and yet, and yet, and yet” and “always, always, always”
And I LOVE and EXPECT that you always put it all right back in our lap: you have a choice.
You are brilliant and talented and brave.
And I love you to pieces,

Ah Susan, thanks for doing all you do–even that Ironman volunteer work…how do you find such interesting diversions?? And your support and analyses are part of the ritual now (no guilt, but) Thanks thanks thanks :).
